Privacy Policy

Nidoro ("we," "us," or "our") is a personal finance app designed for couples. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. It applies to our iOS app and this website (nidoro.co).

By creating an account or using Nidoro, you agree to the practices described here. If you disagree, please do not use the app.

Information you provide directly:

• Email address (used for account creation and communications)
• Display name or nickname
• Transaction descriptions and financial category labels you enter
• Budget goals and spending limits you configure
• Partner link code (generated when you invite your partner)

Information collected automatically:

• Device type, operating system version, and app version
• Feature usage events (e.g., screens viewed, buttons tapped) via PostHog
• Crash reports and error logs via Sentry
• Subscription status and purchase history via RevenueCat

We do not access your bank accounts, credit cards, or any financial institution. All transaction data is entered manually by you.

• To create and maintain your account
• To sync your financial data with your linked partner in real time
• To process and manage your subscription through Apple App Store
• To send transactional emails (e.g., account confirmation, deletion confirmation)
• To analyze aggregate usage patterns and improve the app
• To diagnose crashes and fix bugs

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your financial data for advertising purposes.

When you link with a partner in Nidoro, certain data becomes visible to both of you. Specifically:

• Transaction entries and category labels added by either partner
• Budget goals and spending summaries
• Money date notes (if the feature is used)

Your email address is never displayed to your partner. If you unlink from a partner, shared data remains in our system but is no longer synced between accounts. See Section 7 for deletion options.

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — Database, authentication, and file storage. Data is stored in Supabase infrastructure hosted on AWS. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat — Subscription and in-app purchase management. RevenueCat receives your App Store subscription status but not your financial transaction data.
• PostHog — Product analytics. We collect anonymized usage events. You can opt out via cookie preferences.
• Apple App Store / Google Play — Payment processing for subscriptions. We do not store your payment card information.
• Vercel — Hosting for nidoro.co. Vercel may collect standard web server logs including IP addresses.

Your data is stored in Supabase databases with row-level security enforced, meaning only authorized users (you and your linked partner) can access your records. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest using AES-256 encryption provided by the underlying cloud infrastructure.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or submit a data deletion request, we will permanently delete your personal data within 30 days, unless we are required to retain it by law.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction: Request that inaccurate data be corrected
• Deletion: Request erasure of your personal data
• Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Opt-out of analytics: Manage preferences via the cookie banner on this site

Our website uses cookies and browser local storage for analytics and your cookie consent preferences. See our Cookie Policy for full details. The Nidoro iOS app does not use browser cookies.

Nidoro is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at hello@nidoro.co.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via email or an in-app notice.

Continued use of Nidoro after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
